United Nations Organization (CNN) - the United Nations Security Council is set to meet Friday to vote a resolution which condemns violence in Yemen, where demonstrators, Government forces and rival factions were involved in disturbances.
The move which would require the Government of Yemen to allow peaceful demonstrations are held and end of government repression against civilians, but it would sanction Embattled President Ali Abdullah Saleh.
A copy of the draft resolution, said it urged "all opposition groups to commit themselves to play a full and constructive part in the agreement and the implementation of a political settlement" and to refrain from violence.
Earlier this week, several people have been killed in clashes with Yemeni security forces after anti-Government protests filled the streets of the capital of the country
Crowds had crossed from center of Sanaa, where the forces government demonstrators were gunned down.
Hundreds of security forces have tried to restrict the movements of the demonstrators and tear could be seen flying towards the crowd, said the Hospital Director Mohammed Qubati.
A senior U.S. official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that the Friday resolution, introduced by the Germany and the United Kingdom, will send a strong signal of emergency for the political transition.
Official hopes that the resolution would pass by a unanimous vote of the 15 Council members. This is an indication of great consensus on the Council, the official said.
The Russia and China issued a rare double veto of a resolution condemning the violence in Syria this month.
The members of the Security Council said a political solution to the Yemen rely on an initiative proposed by the Gulf Cooperation Council, a political and economic of the Arab union.
